How much does it cost?

It’s our goal to deliver individualized instruction with top-notch results. The current rate is $100 per session (45-60 minutes)

Where do you meet?

We see students in a home setting (theirs or ours), where they are most comfortable. In addition, some students attend private schools that allow us to meet on their campuses during regular school hours.  We also offer virtual learning on zoom. We will work with you to determine the best location for your student.

What is Orton-Gillingham?

Orton-Gillingham is a step-by-step approach to reading instruction that is based on how children learn language. It uses multi-sensory activities – sight, hearing, touch, and movement – to help students connect language with letters and words. In use since the 1930s, Orton-Gillingham is time-tested with proven results.  More detailed information is provided on our Resources page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do we get started?

After you complete the initial paperwork, we schedule our first session where we:

1) Review your child’s records. Copies of recent evaluations, report cards, and class writing samples are extremely helpful.

2) Conduct informal assessments that help us better understand your child’s learning style.

3) Develop a unique, instructional roadmap and set specific goals for your child that together we will work toward accomplishing.

What is the frequency and duration of therapy?

Based on the guidelines from the International Dyslexia Association, we recommend our students participate in at least two, one-hour sessions each week. Understanding firsthand the challenges of a busy family, we do our best to find specific days and times that work with your schedule.
